You can pass information about the order associated with the transaction. The minFraud service accepts inputs for:
- the amount of money spent on the order,
- the affiliate(s) and referrer associated with the order,
- the discount code used for the order,
- whether the order is a gift and, if so, whether it has a gift message,
- and the contents of the end user’s shopping cart.
These inputs will be used to improve risk scoring on your storefront. For example, the minFraud service may identify elevated risk associated with particular affiliates, discount codes, or items you are selling.
Order Amount
The minFraud service accepts the cost of the order as well as the currency as inputs. This input is used to assign risk to order amounts. For some vendors, low value orders may be more susceptible to fraud while for others high value orders may be riskier.
You can read the full API specification for the order amount inputs on our developer portal:
Affiliates and Referrers
You can pass inputs identifying the affiliate(s) associated with your customer’s order, as well as the referrer. These inputs are used to improve risk scoring for order affiliates. For example, if a particular affiliate is sending a high volume of risky transactions, the minFraud service may raise the risk score for future transactions submitted with that affiliate.

Discount Codes
You can pass the discount code used as part of the order as an input to the minFraud services. This input can be used to improve risk scoring associated with discount codes specific to your storefront.
You can read the full API specification for the discount code input on our developer portal:
Gift Information
You can pass whether the order is a gift and, if so, whether the customer added a gift message to the order. The minFraud services use these inputs to assess the risk specific to gift orders.
You can read the full API specification for the gift information inputs on our developer portal:
Shopping Cart Contents
You can pass the contents of your customer’s shopping cart to the minFraud services. These inputs may be used to improve risk scoring specific to the items that you sell. For example, if the minFraud service detects a number of risky transactions from customers attempting to buy a specific product, we may raise the risk score for future purchases of that product.
