The GeoLite2 End User License Agreement allows you to use data from GeoLite2 databases and web services for what we call “Internal Restricted Business Purposes” within your business or organization. Learn more about what we mean by Internal Restricted Business purposes.
The GeoLite2 End User License Agreement also allows you to use data from GeoLite2 databases and web services to build applications that are available to users outside your company or organization, or to display that data to users outside your organization, as long as you attribute the data to MaxMind.
An example of an acceptable attribution would be including the following in all advertising and documentation mentioning features of or use of GeoLite2 data:
“This product includes GeoLite2 Data created by MaxMind, available from https://www.maxmind.com.”
No matter how the data is used, you must be aware of the restriction against using GeoLite2 data for identifying a specific household, individual, or street address. Learn more about restrictions on IP geolocation.
If you would like to sell data from the GeoLite2 databases or web services, or applications that include them, and you do not want to include an attribution, you will need a GeoLite2 Redistribution License. Learn more about GeoLite2 Commercial Redistribution Licenses.
