We’re sorry to see you go! If you’ll no longer be using our products, here are your options to close your account:

If you have a minFraud or GeoIP account, follow these steps.

If you have a GeoLite account, follow these steps.

Disable integrations and stop purchases for your minFraud or GeoIP account:

Web service users

  1. Disable any remaining integrations in your system. See our developer documentation for more information about integration.
  2. Turn off auto-recharge [direct link, login required]. Learn more about auto-recharge.
  3. Disable your payment method on file [direct link, login required]. Learn more about managing your payment method.
  4. You can request a refund for remaining service credit within 2 months of the purchase date. Learn more about our refund policy.

Database users

  1. Disable any remaining integrations in your system. See our developer documentation for more information about integration.
  2. Disable any automated download scripts in your system. See our developer documentation for more about automated database updates.
  3. Cancel any remaining database subscriptions [direct link, login required]. Learn more about managing database subscriptions.
  4. Disable your payment method on file [direct link, login required]. Learn more about managing your payment method.
  5. You can request a refund for remaining full months of updates within 2 months of the purchase date. Learn more about our refund policy.

Deactivating or deleting your account:

If you have disabled your integration methods and stopped purchases, you have three options.

  1. Leave the account as-is: Your account can remain login accessible, without actively using products. You can choose to resume using products in the future. However, please note that after an extended period of inactivity, your account will be deactivated. Deactivated accounts may be permanently deleted after an additional period of time.
  2. Deactivate your account: Please reach out to our support team if you’d like for us to deactivate your account. A deactivated account will be neither login accessible nor usable, and you’ll no longer receive account notifications from us. Deactivated accounts may be permanently deleted after an additional period of time.
  3. Delete your account: Please reach out to our support team if you’d like for us to fully delete your account. Account deletion is permanent, and we cannot recover a deleted account. Any remaining products, receipts, reports, account information, contact information, etc. would be lost. You would need to create a new account and re-purchase products to resume use.

Delete your GeoLite account:

If you have a MaxMind GeoLite account that you no longer wish to use, here are the steps to take to delete your account: 

1. Sign in to your MaxMind account.

2. Under the Account menu on the left hand side, click Account Information (direct link, login required)

3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the ‘Delete account’ button.

4. Click ‘Delete’ again to confirm account deletion.

5. Once you’ve confirmed deletion, you’ll be logged out and returned to the MaxMind homepage. You’ll see this confirmation message at the top of the screen. You’ll also receive an email confirming your MaxMind GeoLite account has been deactivated and will be deleted within 24 hours.
