Getting Started with the GeoIP2 Precision Web Service
If you are a trial user, see our GeoIP2 Precision Web Services Trial Guide for ways to test our services with or without having to fully integrate.
Integration and Setup
- Make sure you have an active license key [login required].
- Ensure you are using the appropriate API according to your environment, and connecting to the correct URI for the service you are using.
- To prevent search engine spiders from depleting your GeoIP service lookups, we recommend the use of the robots exclusion standard.
IP geolocation is inherently imprecise. Locations are often near the center of the population. Any location provided by a GeoIP service should not be used to identify a particular address or household.
