How do I use the Batch Lookup Tool?

The Batch Lookup Tool can be used to manually query IP addresses. The response to the query is exported as a CSV file, and JSON file. The CSV file contains a subset of the GeoIP2 Precision outputs, intended for quick evaluation, while the JSON file contains the complete outputs for your query. If you want to quickly view the results of a query in your web browser rather than downloading a file, you can query up to 50 IP addresses using the Online Lookup Form, and see a subset of the GeoIP2 Precision outputs.

To use the Batch Lookup Tool:

1. Prepare a plain text (ASCII) file containing one unique IP address per line. 2. After logging in to your MaxMind account, scroll to the bottom of the left-hand navigation bar and select ‘Batch Lookup’ under the ‘GeoIP2’ Section (or click here).

3. Select the service you’d like to use, and upload your prepared text file. We will email you once the file has been processed with a link to access both CSV and JSON results for your batch upload.

* The Online Lookup Form and the Batch Lookup CSV file only provide a subset of outputs, intended for quick evaluation. The Batch Lookup JSON file provides the full set of outputs returned by our APIs.
